Carrying concrete blocks into the exhibtion room to build plinths at Milan 2022

Our debut exhibition during Milan Design Week. We presented our interview series, Design Dialogues, which is a collection of illustrated interview-style questions from world-renown designers, partnered with new and archived products from each designer. We set out to give the design community an intimate and original insight into the life and work of some of the best in the industry.

This year we had an incredible line-up, featuring the following;

Kickie Chudikova, Michael Young, Sebastian Bergne, Yeongkyu Yoo, design duo Luke Pearson & Tom Lloyd, Karim Rashid, Tim Rundle, Ionna Vautrin, and Hideki Yoshimoto.

Undertaken in the three days leading up to Milan Design Week, 800 blocks, 100 framed sketches and 25 products were assembled in Candy Snake Gallery.

For our plinth design we used aerated concrete blocks, produced by Xella Italia, they ticked all aspects of our brief. Modular, locally sourced, part of a circular system and reusable – no need for wasteful disposal.

We incorporated an interactive sketching experience within the space. Facilitated by Concepts App and Copic, our visitors could answer their own Design Dialogues questions and pin them to a wall that grew in scale throughout the week.
