Launching for the first time at Design Shanghai’s 10th anniversary show and running in parallel with our Studio Sessions series, Design Street featured a collection of top design studios from around the world and provides an insight into who is behind the products you know and love.

Design Street offered a unique and engaging event experience, allowing visitors to view each product from a 360-degree angle and sparking insightful conversations via our ‘door is always open’ design philosophy. The space provided a direct bridge between independent design studios and brands, whilst also promoting China’s ever-developing design industry.

The final construction was designed with the knowledge there was a three day build up period for the exhibition. Aluminium extrusions were specified to allow for rapid assembly and disassembly, alongside the ability for the beams to be recycled after the show. Generally, there is a vast amount of wastage at large exhibitions and therefore this element of reusability was at the forefront of our design process.

Over the four-day exhibition, we saw over 100,000 visitors from all over the world. The street was bustling with talented industrial design from our exhibitors; Beta Design Office, LeapX, Side, Everone, Seletti, X-ZOO, RUUMOO, Misolami, YIMU ART, Roughness, win win tech and LKDN Metaverse.
